Which Driver loft should i use?

i use my mates ben hogan cs3 big ben driver. standard length, standard graphite shaft, and its 9.5 degrees. i swing real fast and driving is my only good part of my game really. i hit about 250 - 270 on the full and i keep getting backspin on the drive and it wont really run that much or it just dies. is 7.5 degrees too low for me to use? |||9.5 is fine.

You might benefit from a stiffer shaft if you swing real fast.

You might be attacking the ball like you would with an iron instead on sweeping the ball off the tee.

You could go to a launch machine and try out some different drivers. Try an 8.5 degree so at least you can see what it is like.

You might find its perfect for you and you won't know untill you try.

The pro at the machine will tell you what club will best suit you, well he will tell you what shaft and degree then you can find a driver to match that and try it out on the machine.

If you find alot of the results the same that you are getting alot of spin then its down to your swing which you can then pay money for.

The machine can tell you everything: launch angle, club head speed, spin, carry etc etc etc...

In the UK we have a shop American Golf, and its free to try clubs out on their machines.

I wouldn't spend money on a pro just yet untill you can confirm every shaft and degree combination just isn't getting rid of that back spin|||9.5 - 10.5 should be just fine.... There is far more to the game of golf than just being able to hit it long........there is more of a crowd roar from a well made putt than you will ever hear for a 350 Yd drive. Backspin on the drive is a result of a descending contact.....you need to be able to sweep the ball off of the tee rather than bludgeon it off. I'd advise a trip to your local pro to see what he can do to help you with your contact...before you go spend the big $$$ on a new driver. You will be a lot happier with the results.|||you might need to get a stiffer shaft, if you have a high club head speed, you need more than a regular flex shaft. that may help you determine if you still need a lower loft driver or not.|||most people use 9.5 to 10.5|||ya make 8.5 your max.....
