Is Jack Nicklaus or Ben Hogan better?

I feel thats a good question statistics aside they played different games they also had different swings jack Nicklaus hit it very high

boomed it of the tee and was great long iron player he had a Winning attitude and was very masterful in working the ball left to right right to left his biggest strength was course management he aimed at trouble and worked the ball away from it he avoided big mistakes. Ben hogan was very mechanical was not a super long driver of the ball but he pured the ball very often and was a great long iron player I dont know everything about him bit i think he hit it pure like 95% of the time and hit many greens he was very consistent known as one of the best ball strikers ever I cant compare short games because I dont know I say jack was better because of his length and course management.|||Neither I like Tiger Woods|||neiter i like tiger woods was a dumb answer.

i like ben hogan becaue he had a great toutch and a soft swing, he was always focused. he is a great player.|||If you go by PGA Tour wins, then it is Jack Nicklaus hands down. He had 73, when Ben only had somewhere in the 60's. Jack also won more Majors. All around, I would say Jack was a better player, considering he was going up against the likes of Arnold Palmer and Lee Trevino. Ben is one of the greats, theres no doubt about that. But we cant mention Ben without Sam Snead who also won a lot during that time.|||Ben Hogan is a conceited and arrogant golfer. Jack Nicklaus is definitely better based on his record and humility.|||They both had their "time". I think Jack is still the "measuring stick" for every golfer yet to play the game.

As for Tiger?...lets see what the numbers are at the end of his career..until then, I'm stil not convinced he's "the best ever to play the game"|||Jack|||Right now? Jack Nicklaus. That's because Ben Hogan has been dead for 10 years.

If you want to know "Was Jack Nicklaus or Ben Hogan better?", I'd still have to go with Jack. You just can't beat his carrier Major wins, his unbelievable iron play and he steal nerves with the putter. Hogan was a great player, but I think that Jack still edges him out.|||Both were the best of their era. Hogan was known for his perfect swing and Jack was known for having the heart of a champion and nerves of steel. For me, as great as Tiger is, and he is probably the greatest to come along so far, Jack's victory in the 1986 Masters will be the most amazing, exciting and glorious victory in the history of golf.
