who is the real champ? example put up Ben Hogan versus Tiger Woods


in a match play or stroke play event whatsoever who is better? the choice is yours.|||Well Samboy i hate to go against the media brainwashed Tiger fans who have answered this question but I will make my case. If the match were to be played on a course with punitive rough and tough conditions like say Carnoustie; Hogan would win hands down and Tiger would be burning up the rough. If it were to be played on a long forgiving course that most of the Tour events are played on and it became a putting contest Tiger might have an edge. Ben Hogan did it with his clubs and Tiger Woods does it with his wedge and putter. There's no doubt who the better tee to green player was. Sorry to burst your bubble guys but that's the simple truth.|||Tiger, no contest. Even Jack N. says Tiger is probably the best player in the history of the game. The guy is so focused and completely in the moment that he is miles ahead of everybody else out there. Can you imagine winning a major tournament with a torn-up knee? I tore up both my knees, and I can not begin to know where he got the strength and determination to continue that match...and win. Hogan probably came closest to having the same core strength and ability, but I believe Tiger would have topped him.

But come on Hogan survived a horrendous car accident (doctors said he may never could have walked again, let alone play golf) then went on to win another 6 majors with the first one coming only a year after that. So i think what tiger did at the US open was good, but you just can't compare.





But don't get me wrong tiger is the best golfer|||If testing their golf motor skills, I think they have got the equivalent degree, whereas Tiger Woods has got more physical fit and firm as well as mechanism advantage than Ben Hogan.|||Johnny MIller vs. Tiger Woods. I would love to see Tiger just trounce him so he would come down off his high horse. To hear him talk, no one knows how to play golf right. |||its a matter of time
