What is a Brassie??????????

I was reading Ben Hogan's Power Golf book and it mentioned a club called a brassie. Evidentally it is stronger than I 3 wood but weaker than a driver.|||a brassie is an old scottish term for a club similar to the modern day 2 wood, in loft and distance, just not in design

generally built out of wood, the brassie is commonly associated with the early 20th century, in scotland, england and ireland

this is a picture of a brassie
