When did callaway Purchase Ben hogan?

I bought some hogan apex blade irons and i heard that since callaway bought hogan, they are junk...any comments???|||Callaway bought the brand in 2005 ( or at least consolidated them under the same rep in 05).

Apex blades are damn fine clubs. Real forgings, not typical cast Callaway|||I would not call your club junk, callaway bought them I think in 2K. And really wanted to bring the brand back into consideration, so for several years after that they made a push with the Apex, the players just did not go for them b/c of there were other clubs on the market that were much more forgiving in the same style and price range. And Callaway had a pretty big market share with just there name brand clubs (Big Berthas, X series) Since about 2005 Callaway has really gone away from the Hogan brand, however still continues to make the club. Callawy also owns Top Flite company as well.|||2005 is correct. the plant was moved to the old spalding plant. the old hogan plant in fort worth was purchased by nike. they then purchased equipment and designers from bankrupt canadian golf company accuform. tom sykes had square headed driver as early as 1993. callaway wanted the spalding golf balls. the hogan brand was included. the callaway hogans , top flite hogans. are just not right. lofts to strong. older hogans. great great clubs.
